Vegan Jamaican Beefy Patties

This week we bring to the kitchen Jamaican Beef Patties!! Get ready to have some fun with something vegan!! Sure it’s a little bit harder than last week’s recipe but you’ll get through it!!

Vegan Jamaican Beefy Patties

Serving size: 2

All you will need for this recipe is…..




  • Milled flax seed and water to make 4 flax eggs(1 tbsp of flax seed and 1 tbsp of water= 1 flax egg)
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour 
  • 3/4 cups of vegan butter sticks
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 tsp of turmeric 
  • 1 tsp of salt


  • Impossible ground beef!! (Half of the package)
  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper 
  • 1/4 tsp of celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp of paprika
  • 1/4 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp of oil for browning beef



  1. In a large bowl add flour,turmeric and salt. (Dry ingredients are always first!!) Then whisk until fully mixed together and looks homogenous.
  2. Then add butter to the seasoned flour. (Make sure it melted!!)
  3. Make those flax eggs then add them to the seasoned flour that now has butter. Remember that you can cook! I believe in you!( 4 tbsp of flax and 4 tbsp of the water!)
  4. Then add water to to the batch. For a thick mixture…
  5. Then wrap the dough with plastic wrap and put it into the refrigerator for 20mins.
  6. Preheat oven to 375° F 
  7. First set the burner to medium high heat and heat the pan up with 1 tbsp of oil. 
  8. Chop up some onions and put them in the pan! (Cook them until they look a little transparent)
  9. Then brown the beef until there’s no more pink!(about 5 minutes)
  10. Then you’re going to pull out the ol’ trusty wooden cutting board or any cutting board. 
  11. Pour flour across cutting board to not make the dough stick to the cutting board.
  12. Roll out dough with a rolling pin. Make sure to put some flour on that rolling pin!(So that the dough doesn’t stick to that either.)
  13. Cut squares into the dough and make sure that they aren’t too thick!
  14. Add 2 tbsp of onions and fake meat to the dough. Then fold the dough (that has the filling in it) and fold it over the filling. (Make sure no meat is pouring out.)
  15. Use a fork to design the ends of the pastry(at the fold).
  16. ~repeat 14-15~ until there’s no more 
  17. Put your patties on to the baking pan and put them in the oven for 25 minutes.
